Members Update – NO5

Dear Members

I hope you all have completed the academic year and are taking a summer break after a challenging time. We hope that you have found these updates useful, and this will conclude this year and we will pick up with a new one in the Autumn term. Items for update are as follows:

Steering Group and Treasurer role

As previously mentioned, our treasurer, Kerry Curtis, is stepping down from the FTC due to her new role. Therefore, we are looking for nominations from members who are interested in both joining the steering committee and taking on the treasurer role. There is a job description which is also attached and there will be a hand over from Kerry and support from Heidi, our secretary to enable a smooth transition. Informal enquires to Carolyn, Kerry or Amanda if you would like to discuss prior to nominating yourself. To apply please send a 250 word expression of interest outlining why you would like to take on this role to secretary@ftc-online.org.uk by Tuesday 14 September.

Conference Futurescan 5: Conscious Communities

The conference committee is planning for the event to be held at The University of Leeds – is continuing for a hybrid event on 7/8 September 2022, a call for papers will be sent out in September. We are currently interested to gauge your preference on how you intend to attend – face to face or virtually and we would be grateful if you could complete this poll so appropriate planning can occur – it will take a couple of minutes Link to Poll

Future Events

We have opened two google documents for you to post in suggestions for future events – such as the breakfast meetings that we ran in 20/21 and the showcase event debrief ideas so that we can progress this conversation with the external showcasing providers – GFF/BFC/New Designers and Artsthread.
